CPWO Webinar – In Conversation with: Sylwia Spurek

Join us for a webinar celebrating the launch of Cyberviolence against Women:  A New Face of an Old Problem‘ by Dr Sylwia Spurek.

Dr. Spurek will be in conversation with Professor Olga Jurasz, discussing the book’s key themes. The book explores the growing phenomenon of cyberviolence against women, analysing its causes, manifestations, and consequences from a multidisciplinary perspective.

It aims to fill the gap in existing literature by not only diagnosing the issue but also providing comprehensive legal and policy solutions. Unlike other works, this book uniquely integrates perspectives from human rights law, digital governance, gender studies, and cybersecurity, making it both an academic resource and a practical guide for policymakers and advocates. Cyberviolence against women is a pressing global issue, merging the long-recognised problem of gender-based violence with the pervasive reach of digital technology.

With insights from legal frameworks and expert recommendations, it is an essential resource for policymakers, academics, and advocates committed to tackling online gender-based violence. The conversation will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.
