CPWO’s First Annual Report Release

We are pleased to announce the publication of the Centre for Protecting Women Online’s first Annual Report.

This report marks an important milestone for the Centre, capturing how the research, partnerships, and engagement activities are shaping conversations and action on online violence against women and girls. It brings together evidence of how interdisciplinary research, spanning law, technology, psychology, and policing, is being translated into policy influence, professional practice, and public understanding.

The report highlights the Centre’s work across key areas, including policy engagement, collaborations with policing, government, civil society and industry, and contributions to global forums such as the United Nations and the Commission on the Status of Women. It also showcases how Centre research has informed consultations, parliamentary inquiries, and professional guidance, alongside public-facing initiatives such as podcasts, webinars, media engagement, and digital resources designed to make evidence accessible beyond academia.

Central to the report is our commitment to ensuring that evidence-based research informs real-world change. By actively participating in conversations with policymakers, practitioners, and communities, the Centre works to ensure that responses to online violence against women and girls are preventative, rights-based, and grounded in lived realities.

We would like to thank our partners, collaborators, and supporters whose expertise and engagement have been essential to the Centre’s impact in its first year. We hope this report offers a clear insight into our approach to knowledge exchange and demonstrates the value of sustained, interdisciplinary collaboration in tackling technology-facilitated violence.
