MK Tech Week – Growing up Online: Young Voices, Digital Futures

What does being safe online mean to young people? What do they enjoy about being digital, what worries them, and what would they change if they could?
Join the Centre for Protecting Women Online for a fun, interactive session bringing together children and families to explore the realities of growing up in a digital world.
Through creative, age-appropriate activities, children will have the opportunity to share their experiences, perspectives and questions about being online — from social media and gaming to friendships, privacy, online behaviour and staying safe. Rather than simply telling young people how to behave online, we want to listen to them and understand the digital world from their perspective.
The session will combine play, creativity and conversation, creating a supportive space where children can learn about online safety while helping adults better understand the opportunities and challenges they face.
Led by experts from the Centre for Protecting Women Online, the event will contribute to a wider conversation about how we can create safer, more responsible and inclusive digital futures for the next generation.
For children aged 7–11 and their parents/guardians. Parents/guardians are asked to stay for the duration of the event.
Come along, get creative, share your ideas and help shape the conversation about what a safer digital future should look like.
The event is free.
